Criterion.
Yes, I'm a geek and no, I won't apologise for it. Just got a few more Criterion dvds through to add to the collection, the sophisto way to watch films. Top shelves used to be reserved for porn ours is for my luxury dvds. Starting with Videodrome (1983) which I've not seen for like, ever. I'm not a massive fan of David Cronenberg films if I'm honest, watched Scanners once and it gave my a really bad eye headache, the way I see it there's still time. Nice case though eh?
Seven Samurai (1954) classic, it's got to be in every 'thousand movies to watch before you die' list, I'll hopefully do that now, no, not die, watch this film. Bottle Rocket (1996) as a big Wes Anderson fan this could arguably be my least fave of his but that's not to say it's not still cool, I had to get it to go with the others, OCD, me.
Harold and Maude (1971) Hal Ashby's mad cult comedy with a Cat Stevens soundtrack, you never seen it? why the fuck not?
Finally the Beastie Boys Video Anthology (2000), the late MCA was a big Criterion fan, this has all their vids and Spike Jonze commentary (told you I was a geek) this can go next to Gimme Shelter on the music side of the shelf.
